Our True Nature

Awareness Aware of Itself

Awareness is always aware.

It is only the human, in the dream of 'me', that thinks that it needs to be 'more aware' or 'more conscious.'

While the identification is with the object called 'me' there will be a 'consciousness problem' or the belief that it needs to be 'more aware' . The 'me' does not have consciousness or awareness, and can never have any. But, actually, that is not a problem.

Awareness is always present. It exists always - it is eternal. How much more present do you want to be? Awareness does not have a 'presence problem' - it is its nature.

The 'me' actually does not exist outside the content of thought. The 'me' actually does not exist at all - and you cannot have a greater 'presence problem' than that.

So we become identified with something that does not exist and which has no capacity for awareness or consciousness. And we take that to be 'ME'. Amazing. Incredible. How could that be? It is not even Alive !!!

The only two things that we can actually be SURE of is that we Exist and that we are Aware.

We can notice that we Exist. If you check carefully that you will see that it is an 'Exist-ing' in the immediacy of the present moment. There is a knowing there. No thought or concepts are needed - in fact they are a hindrance. It is a non-conceptual knowing.

We know that we are Aware. That is directly known by all and is non-conceptual as well. No thought needed at all.

Our nature is Awareness which is Eternal, Universal and non-Personal. There is no separation of Awareness that can be called 'me'.

Awareness - Consciousness is Non-Duality itself. Oneness. No division, no splits, no segments, no slices, no separate bits at all. And that is our nature.

Incredibly, when the belief in the 'me' is fully subscribed to there is a 'belief' that we are separate, isolated - a separate person which yearns for Oneness. What a joke.

The question "Who yearns for Oneness?" has the obvious and only possible answer - the 'me'. The one who is not capable of it yearns for it. Dream On!

Aliveness - Awareness lives 'us'. We are Lived and it has always been that way. The Aliveness that we are is Life Itself. This is not influenced or modified in any way by whatever thoughts and beliefs are going on. They are just objects in consciousness.

Awareness - Consciousness - Aliveness is FULLY there. Totally intact and fully functional. And the 'me' does not exist.

Then how can we be miserable, suffer and enhance the suffering of others? The answer lies in a belief. Just one cor belief - a belief in a separate 'me' - and it is the 'me' that is miserable, suffers and enhances the suffering of others.

Who is it that has the 'belief in the 'me'? The answer to that is that it is 'no-one'. There is no separate person there, so how can there be someone to have the belief.

'We' have an arm, but in the absence of the concept of 'me' all there is, is an arm. There is no-one around to claim it as theirs. An 'arm' is an object in consciousness and so is a thought.

'We' (for want of a better term) do not choose our thoughts. They just happen. Did we choose that arm ? There was no-one there to choose until the conceptual 'me' belatedly made its appearance but the 'me' is only an appearance - it does not exist. No-one there. No-one there to have a thought, no-one there to have an arm.

What IS there is a functioning - an Aliveness. Awareness itself is not a fixed existence (noun) - it is an action (a verb) . It could be called 'Aware-ing' - just like 'running'. The Aliveness that we are is a movement - if the movement stops - that means we are dead.

The actuality is a movement - an action, a function. There are functions, or actions but there is no 'doer' at all - no entity at all.

It is the Eternal Now arising in which all objects appear. One without a second - there can be no separation in that.

Objects are the nouns - the objects appearing in consciousness. The arm and the thought. The 'me' is a thought object that appears in consciousness.

Who then sees the falsity in the 'me'? Who then re-cognises our true nature?

The answer is no-one. There is no entity there to 'do' that. The only apparent entity is the 'me' and the 'me' does not have the quality of seeing or re-cognition, and besides is an appearance only. Appears to exist, but does not.

Aware-ing occurs. SEEing happens. Re-cognition comes about. All are Awareness itself, all are non-conceptual. All occur in the immediacy of the present moment without reference to past or future. All occur (they are one, actually) as a deep knowing.

No thought involved there at all. No knowledge required. No analysis needed. No intellectual activity happens. In fact the mind quietens enormously or just stops.

Who re-cognises our true nature? There is no separate entity to do that.

Are you aware? Stay with that for a short while. There is a non-conceptual knowing, without thought.

Do you exist? Stay with that for a short while too. There is a non-conceptual knowing, also without thought.

This is Awareness being Aware if itself. Subject aware of Subject.

Not 'your Awareness'. Not 'you' being aware of Awareness.

This is Awareness being Aware if itself.

Life itself. The One LIfe. The Omnipresent Life.

Are 'you', the person, doing this ? Not at all. It is arising.

The 'me' has no power to do anything.

It is not even alive.

It does not even exist.

All that has ever occurred is that thoughts that have arisen were erroneously attributed to it.
