Spiritual PracticeEckhart Tolle and Oprah Winfrey Webcasts“A New Earth” - Sharing the Webcasts
The Webcasts can be downloaded at no charge as a file from Oprah's Web site Here is a writeup on how to download the Webcast Sessions
Viewing the Show
You can listen to the Audio Download in a Number of ways
You can read the Transcripts The Transcripts are available from Oprah.com and are downloaded as per the directions referred to at the top of this page. These transcripts are also available on the Peer to Peer networks, giving them even more availability. One of the advantages of the Transcripts is that you can use the Find facility to locate certain words or phrases - enabling you to find specific references quite quickly. The files themselves are called PDFs - which means Portable Document Format. To read them you need the Abobe Free PDF Reader which is available from Adobe.com. It is free and quite safe. The Transcripts are small enough to easily attach to an email and send to a friend and you can either read them from the monitor, or preferably, print them out and read them whilst sitting on a comfortable chair under a nice tree.
File Sharing Networks For those with a bit more computing expertise, or access to someone who does, the following may be useful. The Peer to Peer (P2P) File Sharing networks are being used to share files from the Eckhart and Oprah Webcasts. There is no problem with copyright as these files are being given away free (without copyright notices) and it is supporting what Eckhart and Oprah are about. Sharing the Eckhart and Oprah Webcasts is a legitimate and legal use of the Peer to Peer File Sharing Networks. Sharing in this way make the Webcasts available to a lot of people that would not otherwise have access. The Webcasts are available in a variety of forms - the original 1 Gig .m4v as downloaded from Oprah.com and also as smaller files including an .avi set that are only about 350 MB - so they are a lot easier to download with only a small drop in quality and will play in DivX compatible devices. Files can be downloaded through these networks, but if you do this it is important to leave the files there so that others can upload them from you and so contribute to the global sharing of these files. The eMule network is well populated with files from the Webcasts and is an easy program to use. The program is free and can be downloaded from the eMule website. (Download the latest Installer file). On the installation tick "Use PnP to set up ports" when at the Connection dialogue box - this normally gets it running just fine. Connect to one of the Razorback Servers, which routinely work fine. The program uTorrent is also well populated with Eckhart and Oprah Webcast files. uTorrent (pronounced "microTorrent") can be downloaded from the uTorrent website. Once uTorrent is installed and up and running you can search from inside uTorrent (Suggest use Mininova or Isohunt) , or you can use Google to search - for example Eckhart Oprah Webcast .torrent - it is the .torrent bit at the end that finds the so called 'torrents' and brings uTorrent into play. Note that it is very easy to use up all your bandwidth in a very short time using these programs, but there is no problem at all if you keep an eye on it. Remember that the entire P2P networks rely on Peers (people like you) to continue to share the files. Those who download files are called "leeches" and those who share the complete files are "Seeds". So the name of the game is leech as much as you like, but seed as much as you can.
